I would be surprised if an employee would know too far in advance if something was going on sale. Not the thing a store employee would need to know and I doubt even the manager would have much advance notice.

Yeah. Unlikely, but I know I've seen "hold off, that will be on sale next month" kind of stuff. I'll need one by month's end, but not necessarily until then. If it'll save a hundred bucks, I'll wait. Otherwise, I'll go ahead and order it. Worth asking, IMO...
