quality air blow gun

my dad has an old red handled trigger mac tools brand thats probably 30 years old. ive never payed attention to the fitting in it, but i assume its not made like the HF one i purchased. didnt even get to use it one time and the gun shot across the yard. small brass fitting just punched into the plastic. the brass piece is on the fitting, coupled to the hose, but the gun is gone ***.

lowes and HD look to have the same pos.

I dont have any with any extensions or options. All I want is a simple blow gun and I use them Quite often. I am very content on the HF model ( finally something from thee aia like ).

It has a nice large " hook " to hang on the wall. I have about 10 of them. 6 or for moisture release on my air drops and 3 are at my hose locations. The one at my main working bench can get an hour a day of use.

i have a cornwell one...new off the truck i think i spent 20/25 for it. i HAD one of the HF ones, actually i had two, the first one started leaking air about a week after i got it, the second one pulled the ICBM act and launched itself across the shop (scared the **** outt my pop but gave me a hell of a good laugh) after that i bought a good one.

I picked up a heavy duty blow gun from enco. I think it is Jupiter brand. Very nice and blows air sideways from the nozzle. I think it was $7.

Typhoon's are made by Coilhose Pneumatics and can be purchased at many locations and I believe Snapon still sells them for a premium. They are made in New Jersey and put out 4 times the volume of air as a standard gun with the same inlet pressure and cfm.

Get the pro model and you will have it a lifetime.

One note, this gun is for general cleaning and not meant for cleaning out small holes etc as it has a steel tip and not a rubber tip.

Actually, it's probably newer than your dads and not near as good. Been in the drawer for years though. This one sounds like the HF blower your referring to lol. Surprised Mac put their name on it.
Just threaded a fitting into the plastic handle threads. It doesn't leak yet, hasn't shot across the floor, -seriously doubt that one will last 30 years. I only use that station for cleaning for blowing out filters anyway.

At the body shop I worked in we all carried these in our shirt pocket. The pen style design made them pretty handy.....they are right there in your pocket when you need it. They are still available from Snap-On for less than $15.

Plus 3 on the Cornwell. Have three with the oldest being 8 years old and is under constant 120 psi. Works like new with no leaks. The ergonomics are pretty good too.

Went through two of the cheap HF ones of similar design in four days. They can't handle the pressure and blew out the plunger valve under the handle, which itself is at an uncomfortable angle compared to the Cornwell.

Just buy Milton. They make everything top notch and you will not pay truck prices. My bet is the truck brands have Milton make theirs. Milton air fittings are the best money can buy. I use their tire inflators, gauges, fittings and just about everything they make. Never had anything go bad in 30 years.

Score another reason to stay away form HF.

I needed a replacement and bought the snap on AT4101 it's on sale not much off but on sale regardless. Just got it yesterday and haven't put it to work yet but I remember TJ recommending it in a thread and I finally needed a new one as my old Matco branded one hit the floor and broke so it was time.

Some of the different tips get pricey but they last. I use the at4101 on a daily basis and it's great. The trigger is just right when you need to be careful. I've used a few of the similar looking matco blow guns and some of them seem to get sticky. At home I have a blue point gun (which odly enough is more expensive now then the snap on one) and the snap on at4101.. I bought all of mine off the truck and paid like 12 bucks for the blue point one at the time and 25 for the snap on one.
