Quality driver bits out there

I had a set of different driver bits for my various drills and hand screw drivers that finally bit the dust. I had these bits for over 40 years and I have no idea who made them. Replacement bits have failed fairly quickly. So, who makes a good set of long lasting reliable bits. Looking for opinions.

Apex and Zephyr make very good bits

which bits have you tried ? wera/wiha bits are quite good in my opinion, but they're a little pricey.

Oddly, you can get loose Wiha insert bits from McMaster for less than the cost of the sets. I put together two sets of TorxPlus insert bits that way for under $20.

I consider driver bits to be a consumable ...same with phillips tip screwdrivers...So i dont spend alot of money on them. Baby them all u want..they wear out quickly. The Dewalt brand seem to do good for cheap..

I buy them once a year when Toolady has her sale over the holidays.
My experience is the #2 from PB Swiss works best.
I have some Zephyr and Apex. Great as well.

Yes, I know there is a plethora of bits out there and I have tried many. I usually went with the cheap sets but I also had a nice DeWalt set and the phillips bits just destroy themselves on drywall screws after maybe 20. Like I said, my original set was with me for 40 years and I must have been spoiled. I just never gave them much thought as I never, ever had an issue with them. The screw heads would round out first but with the cheaper sets the actual bit would wear down first. I'll look into Apex and Zephyr.

I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for but for my 1/" impact I like Wiha terminator bits for torx and I like the Milwaukee ones for my phillip head drier bits.
