Anybody ever used it?

Looking at it as a slightly more attractive option vs. straight traditional steel sheets on a detached shop/garage im planning to build.

Also wondering a ballpark price as I am coming up with nothing via google and im not quite to the point of calling the local distributor and talking to them.

I'm hanging the board and batten this week. It cost about the same as Hardi cement siding after you figure in the cost of paint for the Hardi.

It is a good bit more stout than 29 ga, but not as thick as 26 ga.

It does look nice.

Have you looked into what profiles they make in vinyl? big box stores do not carry alot. Also something that specific and not widely used you will not find a price online. Call or stop into your local supplier.

They do make board and batton, cedar shake and a bunch others in vinyl siding.

Vinyl down here in Texas doesnt last(to hot and to sunny). Ive seen way to much cracked and broken vinyl, in places on a house where you wouldnt expect it, to want to even contemplate it. There is a reason nobody down here really uses it. I would rather go with cheap ribbed steel sheet than vinyl.

I got a sample of it sent to me. Would look nice on a barn or outbuilding but the profiles are not proportional enough for me. It looks good but only from a distance I think. Hardi is where its at.
