QUALITY electric motor service needed

i am sick and tired of the local electric motor service store. they are the only game in town. if i take a drill or saw or motor in for repair, they act like they are overwhelmed with work. claim a 2 week minimum before they can even look at it. usually it takes MONTHS to get something fixed. i could write a novel on all the stories from different tools ive had fixed that take FOREVER.

is there a reputable electric motor center/store i can mail my tools off to be repaired that will get them repaired in a timely manner?

Have you tried Googling "ElectricMotorRepair" ?

If your shop is the only place locally, wouldn't

it make sense for them to be, Uh, Er, Ah busy

all the time ?

if your response is to criticize me im not interested.
yes, i can google. im asking the garage journal community. if someone has experience with a reputable shop, id rather do my business there than one i googled that popped up first or has a nice webpage.


the latest saw i took in i brought a broken spare i have for parts.
i needed a switch on another one and it took almost 6 months to get it back. said it would be 2 weeks, then it took a month. then parts were on order, then they didnt show up. then another guy told me they ordered it and showed where it shipped, but they couldnt find it. big run around. i went to the manufacture and purchased my own parts and took to them, then it was still another 2 months before i got my saw back.

back to the current one. guy told me it would be a week or so since i had a saw with the parts this time. wouldnt take him no time to swap them out. its been wed before thanksgiving. i called today and they arent sure the status of my repair. they always say they will call you back and NEVER do.

Buy a multi meter and learn to fix them yourself,most electric motors/tools are pretty simple to work on.

not the ones ive tried to fix. ive replaced switches in low speed mixing drills taken apart other things and installed a new cord brushes, etc. if i could do it, id have already fixed it. the one i did try to repair is why i now have a spare saw for parts.

What does the local shop usually charge for repairs out of curiosity? Maybe I need to start a new business...

What they said ^^^^^^^^ only........Instead of googling repair shops ..........Google ........You tube videos on DIY motor repair.

Nothing on a saw is that complex.........

Usually 30s-low 40s. One saw I had ate a bearing and needed an armature and it was 70 bucks. Had an industrial bosch motor that was 400 to rebuild, but that's out of the normal repair. Its an 1100 dollar motor for a ten thousand dollar machine so had to be repaired
