Hi, I am in the southwest suburbs of chicago and looking to build a garage aprox 32x22. Can anyone reccomend a good garage builder? I have gotten an estimate from danley but heard bad things about them. I have someone from blueskybuilders coming out on monday to give me an estimate. There are a few good reviews about them. Also, I am going to need a new driveway from my existing one to my new garage, about 50'. Should I contract that out from someone seperatly and just have the garage builder do the concrete for the garage and build the garage? Any advice? Thanks

Cant help but live just north of Chicago and looking to build the same size. If you dont mind what was the estimate from Danley? We are going to build a brick 32' x 24' on the back of our property with a 300' driveway.

Danley quoted me 16,100 for the garage and the concrete. I didn't get a quote for the electric or to finish the inside because I was going to have that done by someone else. The price doesn't seem to bad but I want to see what blue sky quotes me. Thanks

My buddy used Blue Sky and his garage turned out great. He was happy with the work. I'm going to contact them when I'm ready to build and see what kind of price they'll shoot me.

I had Danley build a garage 25 years ago. They came a week late. I paid for 16 in centers and they wanted to build 24 on center. A year later I found out when I went to finish the inside wall I got 8 foot when I paid for 9. No I would not recommend them to anyone.

My garage was built just west of O'hare in 2002 and is a Steele and Loeber Garage.

Paid $22,000 for garage and a driveway all the way to the house in concrete.
My garage is 22X30, and I was able to dictate 10ft walls, 9 foot doors, hip roof to match the house, and add my own drains before the pour, added an electrical underground pipe for future elimation of overhead home power wires, etc..
It has stood up well, no issues....
Garage sits on foundation walls and not just on a slab.

I cannot stress enough to "dream BIG!"
Decide eveything you want and go from there...in the future, you'll wish you did!!!!
As you can see, my property is tiny, so I built as big as my town would allow and I am ... so happy I did!
The garage Sq foot is almost as big as the house...LOL, but, the garage will be a great resale point if we ever move.
S&L installed a 30 amp service to the garage and I added extra outlets all along the garage.
I also added all the exterior lights and a alarm and video survalence system.

I can recommend M J Construction, they are based in Dixon so fairly far out from Chicago, but they may be willing to travel.

Did a great job on a double garage, with competetive prices.
