Moving into a new garage with 12 foot ceilings and had these Hyperikon strip lights all picked out, was planning on at least 4 8ft fixtures (25x22 garage)

Hyperikon Vapor Proof LED Fixture 8ft, 120W (250 Watt Replacement) Commercial Garage Lights, 5000k, Frosted, Waterproof Vapor Tight Light, DLC, 2 Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WWXVJPL/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Part of the reason why I chose these because I trust the brand, but now it looks like Hyperikon products are not available due to the craziness.

Anyone have any strip light recommendations? Looking for proven brands, not Amazon knockoff stuff.

Here's an example of a professional lighting strip from a real lighting company.https://www.led-llc.com/lbi
They're about 4 times more expensive and have 10 times the features of any Amazon junk brand. They're very popular and so, like alot of other things these days, are in short supply. You would have to order them from a local electrical supply house. The difference between the real stuff and the Amazon stuff is huge.
For most people here, who aren't using their garages as professional shops, it can be hard to justify the extra cost and they wont use the extra features, either. My advice to you, without being mean to the manufacturers, is that if you were OK with Hyperikon, then the other brands on Amazon are no better or worse. They are all at the low end of the quality spectrum and the prices reflect that. The pro lighting manufacturers, with very few exceptions (like the one linked above), dont really offer this kind of product. Low volume, no profit.
Good luck,
CD

Do you need vapor proof? Are you hanging or screwing to ceiling? Cheapest is metal fixtures without ballasts that you buy LED tubes for. I used LED wrap lights made by James. I bought them here, but just noticed that they no longer say James to the extent that matters:

I don’t necessarily need vapor proof. They will be flush mounted to the ceiling. I’ve been on that website before but I’m leery of buying something without reviews or testimonials.

CD,

What is the difference between amazon stuff and real stuff specifically?

Not trying to be argumentative, truly, just to be informed.

OP,
To be honest I got a bunch of the hyperikon outdoor floods to put in trees 120w eq LEDs 5000k w blue lens. They are plastic and I was skeptical about their quality but I have installed 30 or 40 on jobs and i have yet to lose one.

Including one job where he keeps them on 24/7 for the last year and a half.

Not sure if that's representative of their overall quality and maybe they have decreased in lumens and I am unaware.

But so far so good w their floods anyway.

Pretty much everything.
Design
Performance
Components
Consistency
Ease of installation
Compatibility with controls
Features
Thermals
Build Quality
For instance, since you mentioned floods... Most floods on Amazon claim 50,000 hours of life. You can find pro floods that are rated at 70% full light output after 200,000 hours. This is a testament to real engineering, good design, quality components, etc.
For performance, most cheap lights just deliver big blobs of light without thought. Pro lighting has specifically measured beam angles, which are engineered for peak performance and results.
Diodes in Amazon fixtures are often factory seconds or blems. Drivers are the cheapest ones they can find, which create all kinds of problems.
I could go on....

They were recommended to me by Platonic Solid a couple of years ago. I have 30 of them and they are well made and work great. I installed them all myself so I got to inspect them closely. Only issue was 2 had slightly cracked diffusers. I do not know whether the identical looking ones being sold by LED now are made by the same company, James Lighting.

I do have some cheap amazon LEDs by hyperkerion in the garage basement and garage attic. They are very cheaply made and 3 of the 10 arrived non functioning but they sent replacements. I would not recommend them and in hindsight I should have spent more than $15 per light for a better product that will likely last longer. I suspect they will fail and I will end up having to replace them. Those have been installed for only about 9 months.

Got it. Thanks for the insight.

In case I start to experience failures in the par 38 hyperikons what is a good flood manufacturer you recommend?

Most of these go in fixtures 40 to 60 feet up in trees so having to replace them is not easy.

Today, for flood lights, I recommend the Independence series from Atlas American Lighting. For PAR lamps, I recommend Sengled or Philips. Things change very quickly in LED lighting, so that could change tomorrow...:)
