Hi all, I’m looking for high quality rubber grommets to use mostly on dirt bikes. Sometimes I have to cut a hole in plastic and run a wire through it. I’m trying to avoid the cheap natural rubber assortments I’m seeing so much of.

Looking at sites like zoro and grainger they sell sbr/silicone/buna-n grommets in the sizes I want... but they’ll only sell me packs of 200 in some sizes. Is there any source for quality grommets in lower quality or in an assortment? Thanks. I’m looking for panel thickness about 1/8, hole sizes in the 1/4 to 3/4 range most likely.

Grommets from Lowes, cut through one side ito open up and insert wire if you can't run the wire through it. In a pinch I would use a piece of rubber fuel line. If you can't run the wire through it slice it lengthwise lay you wire in and secure with electrical tape, zip ties or mechanics wire.

I just bought an assortment from McMaster Carr. The details are severely lacking, especially material thickness would be nice. I’m optimistic it’s a nice set, so that’s why I got it. Thanks all! If I’m missing some sizes it looks like McMaster has some ok qty/price setup.

Got the 99 piece sbr rubber grommets kit from McMaster. It’s USA made by Lavelle mfgr # kt0001. I’m super pleased. It’s not as cheap as the **** on amazon but I’ve had one of those amazon kits and one year later the rubber has degraded very significantly. I’m hopeful this USA made kit will last better. Thx all

Yup.

This is why I always say stay away from China compounded rubber products... casters etc.

Buy USA.

Usually HUGE diff in life expectancy.

I have used the HF assortment with no known problems.

I have one of these sets as well. Like Marc says about staying away from China rubber products, I'd agree too. However, the few grommets that I have used have had no issues and I don't use a large number of them.
