I saw a Youtube video describing the Pro-auto MHR3 ratchet. It is a compact head, 3/8" ratchet with a spin disc, and quick release. It has 72 teeth, and very low back-drag. Here is the video:

I found one online, and really like it. It is currently at work, so I'll post a link:

Since Taiwan is currently producing some very nice tools, what have you found that hits the mark?

Their bit ratchets. Especially the ones by Hi-five/ NewTools, like the VIM HBR4/Prestaratchet, and the ones with the multifunction extension. Also the Titan offset micro ratchets, and the Genius Tools wobble extensions.

Toptul makes good hand tools, especially spanners, sockets, breaker bars, drive extensions, (not ratchets though), pliers, vice grips, chisels, punches, and hammers.

One of their merits is that they don’t decorate them with useless gimmicks and design features. The tools look traditional. I’ve heard they’re inspired by classic Stahlwille patterns, and I can believe it. This means the designs work and age well in terms of both function and fashion.

TOPTUL makes amazing stuff and I should know as I use to sell it. TOPTUL has three problems 1) Lack of innovation. 2) Doesn't understand that the American market requires sizes that Asian cars don't (see 13, 15 and 18mm). 3) They never committed to having a warehouse on American soil or to any kind of advertising to let North Americans know that they exist. The ratchet thing is due to them buying their ratchets from William Tool rather than investing in their own manufacturing or finding another vendor with more up to date products.

I was thinking some folks would weigh in with some Tone or Deen tools. Both of those brands seem top shelf.
what other Taiwanese brands do people really like?

I have the Pro Auto models in all 3 drive sizes and bought them through the info in Chris's video ( he is a member here ) and really wish they didn't have the quick release or thumb wheel, it would make the head even more compact.

Also own a few Deen tools purchased through Webike Japan, they offer pretty fast shipping to the USA.
