Overall height and lift height are two different measurements. One will give you the under car height (lift height) and the other will tell you the maximum height the vehicle you are lifting can attain. Some lifts can have height extenders added to the top to help with taller trucks or cars if needed.

Take a look at this pdf for the 3 different heights available for A 10,000 pound Challenger lift with a 2' and 3' extension but the same rise height.

Thank you, GeorgiaHybrid, for sharing our PDF on the forum. Height measurements for all our lifts can be found on our website.

79mudbugg: We hope the PDF was helpful, however, please reply to this thread if you have any other questions.

The lift height is kind of a deceiving measurement. It's not how high your car/truck will lift off the ground it's how high the arms will lift. So if your truck had its frame off the ground 16" you will have to reduce the lift amount buy that much ( not accounting for any adapters on the arms). In my case 74" tall I really would like more lift height. I HATE to have to duck under the lift!

Several lift companies offer lift extensions for cases like yours. They often come in 3", 6", 10" and I think in one case, 12" height extenders. With most pads being 4" or so from the floor, a 10" extension would start the lift 2" from your frame rails.

That should get a short guy like you plenty of room....:D

I have a XPR-10ACX and I can just walk under the lifting arms when the lift is fully in the up position. I'm lucky to be 5'9" so I just make that. The car is of course on top of the three inch risers. If I'm wearing a baseball cap with a visor I have to remember to duck under the tires or rear end but I can easily walk under a car in the air. Same with my pick up. You'll love it when you get it installed...........

I would suggest visiting a few shops and see the lifts they are using. If you are nice and honest they may lift one all the way up so you can walk under and get a feel for the heights.

What I would like to see is a two post lift I could drive my corvette over (without using ANY sort of boards or aides so the air damn or splitter doesn't rub) and still lift high enough so a 6'3" person can walk under it without ducking.

so if you had 3" spacers in full position, the taller spacers wouldnt help any right? i mean evently the top of the lift comes into play? And i see some manufactors make extended heights but aint seen a bendpak say this, does any one know if they do?
