So at work we had a machine that needed air so they bought a 3 phase high torque fuji ring compressor that's not in use anymore. After looking at the specs I'm confused if these can be used as a air compressor like a vane style compressor or what there's is a 135psi max and said 338cfm then gave specs for water. Here's a picture. I may be able to get it for free and I got a 184t single phase marathon chore motor to replace the 3 phase motor.

The inches of water lift are usually associated with vacuum ratings. This may be a vacuum compressor, not a pressure compressor.

So it does nothing air wise? Cause he couldn't remember much about it besides it's not hooked up to the machine that needed it anymore. I work in a print shop making labels.

A ring compressor is meant to move a lot of air and relies on that air movement for cooling. So if your thinking of it as an air compressor or for driving tools it won't work. If you look at all the specs for that compressor look up the minimum air flow also. Years back we designed one into a machine and burned up a couple till we figured out the minimum air flow thing and we had to go to a smaller compressor instead of restricting the output air flow to meet the needs of the process.

no neat sig line

Wonder if it is enough pressure for a big HVLP gun.

Yeah makes sense as it was hooked up to a big machine that required a lot of air. All the printing presses and other equipment require a lot of air cause we got a 75hp 400 gallon IR rotary screw that has trouble keeping up. There's massive black iron piping all throughout the building for air lines. This thing was sitting in the back room of my ink department. ***** it wouldn't work for anything I guess my quincy 325 will have to do

I want to snag the muffler off it and get some reducers to make it the intake on my 325 bet it would be super quite, would need to see if there's baffles inside it as there's a foam filter that you can see. Wouldn't want it getting sucked inside the pump

Wish I had 3 phase power at my house 10hp at 460v which we run on all our eletric motors at work then there's a transformer to drop it down or whatever and we still consume so much electricity that during the summer months when electric is in high demand we have a contract were we shut down so the grid doesn't crash but we don't get paid so it's a win lose scenario
