I put up an outdoor light for my backyard/deck area. I ran the wire from another outdoor lights box that we have in it's area. I used standard 12 gauge outdoor electrical wire. My question is I have a little bit of that wire exposed, about 1 inch. Is this safe? Should I redo it, or is it ok??
Thanks for looking.

Is the soffit panel metal or plastic? Only concern I'd have is if the wire touches a sharp metal edge that could chafe it. Other than that it's fine.

As long as it's protected from chafing or damage it's perfectly fine, from a practical standpoint. Code-wise I'm not sure if it would be passable. The front spot light on my house is fed with UF that runs out from the basement through a hole in the rim joist and runs up through the corner trim on the vinyl siding. Not necessarily the way I would have done it but it was that way when I bought the house seven years ago.
