Question about beam and trolley

Hi

I need an 8' 5" beam for a 1/2 ton pull trolley. What size beam should I get?

One thousand pounds?

I have seen that done with barn door track.
I would think a three inch beam would be plenty.

Check to see what the narrowest your trolley can be set to. Then get that size or slightly larger.

Ask your steel supplier about drops...with that low of a capacity & only needing that length you should be able to get a deal.
