First, congratulations on the upgrade! Also, thank you for your concern for members privacy with regard to tap-a-talk. There are a lot of threads I like to follow and my normal habit is to click on the most recent page and scroll down from there. On some threads, the most recent page will take me back to the beginning of the year and load photo after photo that I have already seen before I can get to the posts that occurred since I last checked the thread. I use my phone as my internet access point and this situation has significantly increased my bandwidth usage. Is there a way to cause each thread I check to only show the posts to that thread since I last checked the thread? Thank you, in advance, for any help.

When you first log in to the new GJ, all threads will have a red [NEW!] button next to them. The system basically thinks that all members are new and all content is unread, even if it was a thread you always closely followed and were all caught up on. You have to open and go to the end of those threads if you want to clear those individually, or you can go to Mark Forums Read at the top and click that. Warning that doing that will tell the system you have read every thread in every forum. Either way, one at a time, or all at once, that will clear the system, and after that, the [NEW!] button at the end of a thread will truly mean that there is a new post you have not yet read.

Apparently, you can log out and clear your cookies, too, but someone else will have to explain that.

Once you do that, this is the way the new GJ works...

Clicking on a bold black thread with a red [NEW!] button (i.e., a thread with new posts since your last login...) will take you directly to the first new or unread post.

Clicking on a mute grey thread without a red [NEW!] button (i.e., a thread you are all caught up on with no new posts since your last log-in...) will take you to page 1 post 1. To navigate, you have to scroll to the bottom of page. The [Next >] button takes you to the next page. The [>>] button takes you to the last page.

Lugnutz,

Thank you for the response. I had been clicking on the highest page number and did not realize that clicking on "new" would give a different result.
