i have acquired a champion 60 gallon horizontal compressor. nice unit.

i have a urethane floor coating with chips in it.

i have 4x4 vibration pads that are rubber and cork to use under the legs of the compressor.

any idea if it will "walk" off of those pads if i dont put a bolt through it into the concrete floor?

i would really rather not bolt it down.

It's perty much compressor dependent. I'd suggest that you set it up and go for it. If it's a walker then deal with the problem.

The friction of the rubber should keep it in place.
If it wants to walk then something is out of balance and causing too much vibration.

The pads will stick to the floor, and the compressor will settle into the pads. No bolts necessary. I have an 80 gallon upright set the same way and it has never moved. At work, we set machines all of the time on anti-vibration pads and they were never bolted and never moved.

You should be fine. My vertical compressor is not bolted to the floor and sits on rubber pads. Make sure that you use a flexible connection to your header pipe or regulator, etc.

I am in agreement, I doubt it will move any. If it does move, you can always get one of those non-slip mats to put down on the floor under the 4X4 pads.
