Hello everybody,

I'm a newbie and hope the post is right here. If not, be so kind and move it to the right place.
At first I would like to shortly introduce myself: My name is Jonas and I'm an independent craftsman. That's why I recently bought a Ford Transit and started to convert it in my garage. Since I'm finished now, I still look for a way to store my documents and materials properly. So far, I’ve only encountered so-called auto-assistants (e.g. https://www.sortimo.co.uk/products/mobile-office/ ). Has anyone already had experience with it? Or are there any other options? I look forward to hearing from you and thanks in advance.

Welcome to GJ Jojo. Good topic.
I also work out of my vehicle - Ram pickup, outside sales rep. Over the years I've had the best luck with the "milk crate" style plastic boxes that accept hanging files. Keeps everything at my finger tips during the week. On Friday I can lift the crate off my passenger side floor and I have a seat for the Wife again.

My new Ram's pass side is smaller than my '10 was. The crate scuffs the dash board taking it in and out, so I have it in the back seat - pita.

I'm interested to see what others are doing & using for a mobile office.

i spend most of my day in an '15 chevy 3500HD service truck.

i use a metal clipboard to hold my work orders, it sits on top of the center console. my laptop fits under the console arm, connected to the cigarette lighter for power. 12v-110 converter on the trans hump powers a mobile wi-fi device for my internet connection.

phone rides in a console cup holder. i can access my email, 90% of the communication i have with my boss is via email, instead of playing phone tag, and can pull up a map easily.

i have a remote start interface "box" and cables on the floor of the passenger seat for easy access. ( i'm required to connect my laptop, and retrieve stored fault codes, to EVERY unit that i am working on)

my paperwork goes back to the office every 2 or 3 days.

all my technical info is available online, no need to carry print manuals. i do have some info printed and stored in a folder that slips under the drivers seat.
