Hi all,

I have a shed that is fed with 10g thwn wire in 3/4 pvc conduit. it is fed from my father in laws garage. he is putting an addition on the back of the garage which is where the conduit enters the garage. the back wall will be removed and the garage extended about 10 feet.

so i have to move the electrical lines. my plan is to bury a section of conduit to the other side of the garage, where the main service entrance is, and have my shed feed in the same area. but there is a problem. there is a junction box where the feed goes through the wall. so i will need to still have a junction box, but it will have to be underground.

what i was thinking of doing, is burying a water tight pvc box in a large pull box. (similar to the sprinkler control boxes) is this do-able? what should i use for the wire splice? wire nuts are no good, i heard.

Thanks

Pull out the wire from the conduit & extend it out to the new location, pull in new conductors & be done.

Everything is DO-ABLE! But something being do-able and meeting code are two different things.

Any junction box by code has to be assessable, for example in a house you can use a junction box to do a splice and extend your circuit but you can not bury that junction box behind any drywall or what not, the cover to the jb has to be exposed and easily opened.

Like the previous post you should pull new wires.

Your call.

cheers
