Question about outdoor light fixtures- Barn lights

So to get right to the point, wife found some "barn lights" at lowes and wants me to replace all of the exterior lights on the house while I'm adding led fixtures in the shop.

I installed 1 of them to see how they look. They look great but with the bracket mounted to the cup behind the siding and the light mounted to the cup it has about an 1/8th inch gap maybe a tad more and wobbles, Looks like ****.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to tighten it closer to the house or something I can use to fill the gap?

I'll take a few photos and add to this post in the a.m.

Heres a link to the fixture.

There are mounting blocks/plates that are made for the most common sizes of residential siding. The front is flat and the back follows the shape of the siding. If I remember correctly from my research a few years ago, there is a limited selection of them at Lowe's/HD. Many more choices online. Try Googling "mounting lights on siding."

There are two ways to mount light fixtures on siding:

1. Cut out a section of siding to fit a 1-by piece of trim, such as a 1x6x6 piece of PVC board with a hole cut out in the middle so you can mount the light to the octagon box.
2. Get one of those prefab mounting plates that has angled cut outs along the side to match the pitch of the siding and mount it directly over the siding and the octagon box.

Either way you need to seal them up around the edges with GOOD caulk.

I should mention that I am replacing lights that are already on the house with the new ones. So all of the wiring in the wall is done, it has a round plastic box in the wall and a nice trim panel over it. It was pouring rain when i got home from work so no photos tonight. I'll try again tomorrow. Thank you for the replies

Does the existing trim panel make a neat vertical panel for the wall escutcheon? If all you need is a thin trim ring, you can get a piece of plexiglass and use a jigsaw to cut the inner, and a bandsaw to cut the outer circumference. Other materials would also work, as mentioned, just be sure to caulk well.
