I have never had any filter or lube inline in my compressor before, but as I am getting my new shop situated I installed RapidAir lines. As part of this i also bought an inline air filter/water separator. It came with a sheet of information, but no instructions really other than;
-its poly-carbonate, so dont use lube that is not compatible
-install so air flow follows the arrows on top.

My question is, there is a lever on the front that retracts downward, and allows the housing to rotate. At first I thought this was perhaps how you disconnect the bowl to replace the filter. But after messing with it for some time, I don't think that is the case. I think to change the filter i have to remove the plastic screw and the knurled nut from the bottom. But before I start needlessly taking it apart, i figured i would ask here. ( I did some google searches, but have not found the answer )
Its a SAF4000 from PneumaticPlus.com

Thanks for any input.

Seems I have one somewhere that disconnects the bowl like that, with a couple clips. Is there a petcock in the bottom for draining the bowl without shut down?

I believe its a 'manual drain'. So I have to unscrew the plastic nut around the petcock at the bottom and i think push up on it to drain. I am guessing. Don't really know because its not hooked up yet.
Why? another story. lol.
The pressure switch went out on my compressor, so I am waiting on a replacement. ( I tried fixing it.. but it will not shut the compressor.. but will turn it on when pressure drops)

Ok.. i went ahead and unscrewed the plastic nut and the knurled one as far as they would go. When I lever & rotate the globe, it lets it detach from the upper housing. However I can't get the globe off still. Its blocked by these nuts. I don't want to force it as its plastic... this damn thing is making me feel stupid.
