Question About Polishing Concrete Floor

I just finished removing a peeling coat of epoxy from my garage floor thanks to the previous owner's poor attention to detail. I'd now like to have a polished concrete floor.

I'll be spraying my densifier this weekend and I have a question about the polishing process. After the densifier, is it necessary to use a floor burnisher with diamond pads?

The rental supply store for the burnisher only has "scotch-brite" like pads in white, red, green and black. Will these pads work?

Shea's article is Spot on. You can't polish with a burnisher, you need a planetary grinder with successive sets of diamond and hybrid polishing pads. Densifier is just one if many steps. Then, a burnisher is used to burnish in a stain blocker as the last step.

Be careful,as polished floors are not super resistant to oils and fuels in a garage.

Some of our customers have found that they like the look of a clear Polyurea as an alternative.

How slippery is this coating when wet? Is there a product that gives a similar polished look but is not slippery when wet? I like the look.
