Hi all,

So my dad has and older Snap On set consisting of a KR557 and KR537 I believe. About a year or two ago he had the KR557 repainted in the deep purple color and replaced all the slides. My parents have moved and I have purchased their former house and with it the 3 and half car detached garage. Well I have the top KR537 and am interested in restoring/repainting it for a fathers day or birthday gift for him. My problem is, I have no idea where or how to accomplish this. I have no sheet metal working experience, let alone tools for such to remove some of the dings and dents from over the years. I would like to try to get ahold of his Snap On guy he uses at work and see if I could explain my plan and get the slides replaced. I also have no idea where to look to get it painted. A local body shop? I would ask him how he went about it with the bottom box but I dont want to lead onto what Im planning. Any advice from the members here would be much appreciated.

second on the mom and pop and if u find the right place u can talk them into doing the disassembly and sanding and all the **** work ur self and learning, and them just shoot it with paint in the end and the price will go down really low
