I know a big issue with cheap fluorescents is the RFI noise created by them. Im just wondering how much of the static on the radio is caused by it being a crappy radio and not shielded as well. I see this at my shop when I pull cars in. Newer vehicles or nicer cd players are fine when you pull them in, but older cars or certified POS radios get fuzzy.
Could alot of these problems we are seeing be caused by peoples crappy radios. I mean theoretically they already bought cheap lights, why wouldnt they have also bought a cheap radio, or still be using the same one from 1990. Ive got one of the Dewalt jobsite radios and that thing gets reception in my basement. I dunno, just thinking aloud here and get some opinions.
Maybe I'll buy 3 or 4 of those $20 fixtures and temporarly hot wire them, and place my radio near them to see what happens before I go installing all 12 of them. The thought of $780 in light fixtures makes me want to kill myself. but the thought of a constantly static radio makes me want to pull my hair out
