Question about Snap on screwdrivers.

So, my old black handle Snap on screwdriver handles from the early 80's are oozing/sweating a kinda oily liquid. So, since I no longer work due to being disabled, I don't see the Snap on truck anymore. I really like their new Instinct handles, and trying to find them to replace my old wet handles with the Instinct ones. Looks like they don't sell just the handles. I've seen a few on ebay from time to time, but they are chewed up, and beat to ****, for a lot of money each. and all were the same size. I'm looking to replace all my handles, so would need 20+ in different sizes. I'd buy used if in OK shape for the right price. No funky colors, only red&black. Any ideas..??

Thanks

Well..... Snap On will warranty those screwdrivers that are oozing oil (it is a known defect that they will warranty). You will have to mail them in. Give the customer service phone number a call, explain the problem with your current handles (oozing oil). The customer service agent should be aware of this problem, but if not, ask to speak to a manager as Snap on DOES known about the problem and WILL warranty them.

Now, I'm not 100% sure on snap on's product line up (I don't exactly read it every night before going to bed like some here), but they have hard and soft handle instinct screwdrivers. They don't sell black handled screwdrivers like yours anymore (at least under the Snap On name, under Williams they have the same screwdrivers that you currently have). You should be able to send in your black hard handled screwdrivers and get new instinct hard handles.

You might even be able to convince them to switch you out for the soft handles (if you want them). Not a guarantee, but worth a try if you want soft handles.

All I got!

FIFY.

Call Snap On first. See what they say. Then report back here with happiness.
My guess, either they mail you the exact quantity of handles you need (and expect you to swap the blades into the new handles), or have you mail everything in and send you new stuff.

Yeah, I could, but don't want the same handle. I really like the new Instinct. I can tighten and loosen much better with these handles. In my opinion, the Instinct handles are the best out there. Plus, I'm on a very tight budget being on disability...:(

Totally agree about the instinct handles. I have been using Wiha screwdrivers and loving them for the last 20 years and was reluctant to even try anything else. I LOVE the soft instinct handles. Snap did a great job must have used a hand just like mine cause it fits perfectly in every spot of my hand and fingers. I cant gush enough about them.

I had the same problem with my old black handle screwdrivers. Not working in a shop anymore I didn't have a Snap-On truck rep. I bought other screwdrivers and kind of forgot about the old screwdrivers. Then, about a year ago I met a Snap-On truck rep. He replaced under warranty all my bad handle screwdrivers with new instinct screwdrivers. I like the new handles much better.
