Question about SnapOn’s latest plier cushion grip material

I just received a LN44BCF plier as a gift. The red grips seem stickier than the older red grips that I have on pliers from the last few years. Has anyone noticed a change in the composition of the cushion grips recently?

I don't really think they changed. They always seem to start out "sticky" but over a little use it's really more "grippy" them sticky and they lean up really nice if you have the time or desire to do so.

Thanks @B_Bimmer, I put them to use already so time will tell. Great plier for sure.
