New mwmber here finally went to Costco to get the big stainless box and they are out of stock at all the Seattle area stores but found the Sam's item in stock for $687 and was wondering if it's the same size as the Costco item #161809? The Sam's box is 41"X18"x60" and has the diamond plate drawer fronts, it looks good and I just wanted make sure I'm not giving up anything by not waiting for the Costco item to be restocked.

Thanks,

Dan

We don't have a Costco here. But I have a Sam's Club stainless tool box that I really like. It is a year old. One of the guys I work with got a current Sam's stainless tool box for Christmas, the one with the diamond plate, and he is also very pleased.

We have both a Sam's and a Costco, within two miles of one another (Independence MO). Both carry CSPS boxes, though last year, Sam's started carring several different models. The last time I was at Costco, they had two. The Sam's ones, all tended to have drawers that were the same depth verse Costco's which had a couple of "file cabinet" depth drawers.

Now Sam's is handling the ones with diamond plate, mostly I believe to differentiat from Costco, or the other online (one in KS) places that carry CSPS, in other finishes, like polished.

I haven't seen those CSPS boxes in my local Costco for some time now. Can someone share the cost of them in the various sizes from Costco and Sam's?

Thanks much,

Guy Lopes

I saw one at Lowe's and it was not a well made unit. It didn't hold up to the customer abuse and the drawers were not working smoothly at all. If it can't hold up to the customer abuse, I don't think it will hold up well in use in general. It had riveted slides on the drawers. I assume that the company makes lots of models and quality grades? I also found it rather narrow for my use. I am used to old Snap-On boxes that are much wider.

I just bought a CSPS 41" at Sam's yesterday. It has the diamond plate drawer fronts. Very nice, very heavy. I think I will like it. The cost was $687.

I was just in this dilemma myself. I had my eye on the Sam's one, but after looking at it a last time, I didn't like all the drawers being full width, plus it just felt kinda "thin" I even got a big gift card to buy it for christmas, but in the end I went with the Harbor Freight boxes and am glad I did. They were $25 more for the pair, but the box is bigger and better made. here are the ones I went with,
