Question about torque wrenches

I am going to need to torque fasteners in both directions and am told that some torque wrenches will only torque in one direction. Any experience with this? I have a Snap on tech angle digital but have never tried to torque in counterclockwise direction. Any chance of damage? Any recommendations?

any torque wrench with the on off switch should be able to torque in both directions. although the non traditional way is slightly less accurate. i know snapon's will do both

My Snap On split beam torque wrenches can only torque clockwise. I have a few Stahlwille Manoskop wrenches that have removable heads. I believe I can insert the ratchet heads upside down, so the handle would be reversed to torque counterclockwise. I also have a few heads that have a pass-through square key instead of a ratchet, and that can be pushed through to reverse too.

It’s the split beam torque wrenches that only work in the clockwise direction. Most of the the rest will work in both directions, albeit a little less accurate in the counterclockwise direction.

I've never seen a torque wrench that only torques clockwise. Counterclockwise is needed for left hand threads.
