Question about underslab foam

I was looking at the 2" Owens Corning XPS 250 4x8 sheets at Home Depot and noticed that the sheets are perferated so they can be easily snapped into common sizes. My question is, anyone have any problems with this setup underslab and breaking when walking on it at the perferations? Is this the only way it comes? Can you get sheets un-cut or not scored? Thank you!

if you grade the gravel well you shouldn't have any problems .. if you do find it snapping try laying a sheet or two of plywood down to walk on .. when i put down that type of insulation i start from the back corner and work towards the door to minimize the amount of stepping on it

Home Depot told me they could not get the non-cut sheets, so I went to Pro-build and they had just what I needed. I just dont want to risk a break especially when I will not be the only one walking on it! Bought 93 sheets! $OUCH$

Goooooo! 93 sheets, that one hurts. I didn't have any issues with a 2" board with the perforations breaking, but that's a moot point now.

Good luck!

I don't know why they even put those perforations in there. Every piece had to cut did not fall on those perforations. Skill, excuse me, Circular saw, worked great for cutting the foam board.

BTW, I walked all over my FB and never had any trouble with the perforations cracking.

Before insulating a slab-on-grade, you have to make sure the substrate meeting industry standards. If the ground is prepared and perfectly level a 25psi XPS will suffer any foot traffic.

In most non-commercial installation we staple PEX to foam and lay flat wire over all, so wheelbarrows, boots and shovels are not a problem.

My local HD is getting $26 per sheet for the pink XPS. If the price is going up, I guess I need to buy enough to finish the entire shop. I have been using it on the walls. So far, I have never had the score line be in the right place.

I wish I could find a deal like that! Menards had no interest dealing with me as I'm not a "contractor." Home Depot and Lowes tried but werent even close. And I thought $26 a sheet was a good buy!!

Yeah, you win some, you lose some. I should have bought pallets of OSB 3 years ago when it was $5/sheet, now I'm looking down the barrel of $14/sheet to finish my garage.

I just bought 53 sheets of Formular 150 from Home Depot. I got a 10% discount by opening their credit card account and still paid $28.80 per sheet. :(
