question about using Sears Coupons

I have read numerous threads here where someone has combined a SAVE20 with an APRIL14 and a MINUS45 and whatever and has almost had Sears paying them to take it with all the reductions.....I still haven't gotten it figured yet, so I thought I'd ask - I need to buy a tool from Sears that is $179....and I know many coupons have breakpoints at 150 or 200 dollars. What do y'all think would be the best way to try to use coupons? Get a $21 thing and use the $200 coupons, or not worry about. I am just trying to figure out the best set of coupon codes to try to combine. The tool is not on sale, not a blowout, not a clearance, not a special sale, so I think most coupons will work. Any help is appreciated......

it seems like it's a roll of the dice sometimes. I lucked out today with my attempt at coupon/points stacking. Had to buy some oil for the truck and ink for the printer so i used some coupons at K-Mart and gained $15 in bonus points. Bought the wifey some gifts for mothers day and stacked a few coupons there. Gained another $33 in bonus points plus a $10 gift card. Had some tool coupons and bonus points so I stacked those as well with the friends and family extra 10% off. I bought both 1/2" drive deep impact sets (on sale for $35.99 each) for $8 and some change and got $12 back in points. Sears paid me $4 to take both sets of impacts. Feeling like a champ. I ended up buying about $750 worth of stuff for about $200 with all sale discounts and coupons/points. So, long story semi-short, keep stacking and see what sticks.

I can combine up to two: one discount, and one bonus reward points.

The codes/coupons do not have all the same fine print, so it's hard to suggest the right ones without a link to the product. Also, some of the SYWR coupons might not work well online, but they might work fine in the store.

Typically you can use a coupon code that you find on a site like fatwallet (the sears2014, save15 types) with a 9XXXXXXXXXXXXXX coupon code

Anyone having an issue with the Save15 code right now? I tried placing an order and it is saying "We're sorry, that code doesn't match one in our system. Please check the code and try again."

Please don't tell me this code is inactive now. At first I thought it was because the items in my cart were Craftsman Club priced and it wouldn't let me use it, similar to using coupons on Hot Buy items. I removed them and added regular priced items, and I'm still getting the same error message.

HELP!!

It looks like it is inactive, i have tried it on several things and it is a no-go. that code comes and goes. I think a lot of codes are wonky right now with the friends and family 10% off now, or 20% in points.

Be sure to double check your discounts and points at checkout, as the friends and family thing seems to change the end result.

SAVE15 had an expiration date for the end of the year.

Yesteday, the 309 pc mechanics tool set got down to $155.99 with F&F sale discount and code SAVE15, but then Sears panicked and killed the fun. :willy_nil

It was supposed to expire at the end of 2013 or 2014?

Anyone have a new coupon code similar that will work?
If it was 2013, then why would I say "Yesterday..."?

TOOLS20 will still work, if you haven't used it recently. $100 minimum purchase.

BTW, Sears has a history of killing off promo codes before their expiration date. All you need to do is share a very good deal using a code.

Can't help with coupons, every time I try more than one it doesn't work. Heck most the time one doesn't work either..
If buying Craftsman it might be worth working up to $200+ to get the $10/month back from Craftsman Club, if you don't already get it..
Good luck!
