I have a old airco dipstick 160 welder, is it possible to swap out the entire roller feed system with one from another brand machine where parts are more easily available?

I see entire systems on ebay for pretty cheap, I know it would need to run off 120 I believe that's what mine runs off of even tho it's a 220v machine.

Haven't been able to find much info, I would assume I could just connect a new matching mig gun and run the wires to the switch for the wire feeder. Maybe there's more to it then I know I'm just not sure.

My son has a Mac 140 (re-badged Cebora) that has a crumbling plastic wire feed that is NLA. I want to replace it with a wire feed from one of the big welder companies, just haven't done it yet.
You might try asking on a welding forum, it has probably been done many times.
