question and todays haul

Went to Vancouver to buy some Sears dog bone ratchets. He is selling tools that his buddy cleared out of his dad's house. Bought those, a 1/4" sears ratchet and 18" craftsman ext., a 1/2" Proto ratchet. But the question I have is this. I bought an OTC OBD II scanner-is it worth it to use on my 88 F150?

They didn't go OBD2 until like 97, I had to get the specific to ford code reader for my 87 F150, before that I used a paper clip to short out the correct pins to get a code. I think maybe there is some sort of adapter, but I don't know for sure.

Yup, transition was 96 or 97 I think, my '95 Blazer had the OBD II port but not all the protocols as I recall. If it'll read it you'll need an adapter. Otherwise as mentioned a lot of OBD I just required shorting the correct pins to get the blink code to flash

I will post pics tonight if I get home in time from work. But there are lots of adapters/cords so it may actually be set up to read both-I just got it and have not checked everything out yet. The manuals say it will read down to early 80's so hopefully the connectors are there.
