I am in the middle of renovating an old craftsman 150 (king Seely) drill press, could someone please explain to me how to remove the chuck from the quill shaft? the original is damaged and needs to be replaced, I also need to find out what replacement chucks will fit it. I see a collar above the chuck with what looks like a punch pin run through the shaft, but I wanted to ask on here before I started beating on it with a hammer and punch. I have already replaced the quill shaft bearings, and cleaned and re-greased everything. I am waiting to use my friends sandblaster for the head casting so I can send it to the local powder coater. If anyone has removed one before I would appreciate the advice.
