i did went to Lowes for search on indexing 1/4drive ratchet. they had one as last one... Whew BUT anyways i want talk about what is difference between EZ Red and Kobalt longest flex ratchet with handle...

i do like the length but just confuse as why Kobalt sell 36 teeth while EZ-Red had made a 36 teeth before but just switched to 72 teeth... why not it is similar by now??

also i was almost buy a kobalt's 1/4 drive but decided to wait and look at ebay to see what is price difference but i caught a ebay product that EZ-Red sell 1/4 and 3/8 drive combo for just 56 dollars while lowes sell 50 dollars for 1/4 drive and 56 dollars for 3/8 drive...

i just need longest ratchet i can find so i can use it for speed up easy ratcheting than try get my big hand into tight area to get it work... so i will wait for the EZ-Red product come in on wednesday...

Lowes does have the long for 30 bucks with 72t for the 3/8, but it is a chrome handle. And the 1/2 for 33. 24.50 for the 1/4 dr.

Think the torque is the reason they went to 36t with the xl handle, as the finer teeth would strip out with the torque the xl handle can exert

Not really, some rivet their selector switches so you can not open them. Lowes are much simpler to service.

Exactly. I think many looks are unaware of this.

Hf changed to the rivet design. Sorry, no open now.

^^ isnt the SO dual 80 24" ratchet rated to 700 ft lb. I wouldnt see the fine tooth being a problem

The rivet is a lower cost way of assembly. Even HF supplier need to watch cost. Every supplier is being press to keep prices down. A small screw on selector is more expensive then a 1 piece rivet selector. While it might be the different is 1 or 2 or 3 cents. When you factor the amount of ratchets HF orders, it can turn out to be a decent chuck of change.

Lowe's would probably be easier to warranty; when you break it.

that is true! but i has a friend at my work that do deal with T&E tools dealer, the dealer do sell EZ-Red products.. so i am not worry if ratcheting mechanical are fail, i has lot of backup but i just want to make myself easier to work on vehicle...

i has been use a gearwrench flex head ratchet 1/4dr a lot! but sometime i just need a longer handle to make easy to access and ratcheting...

i think lowes sells a long flex head thats like 25" long, its bigger then I'll ever need.

i dont need a 1/2dr long flex ratchet... because i already has Snap on SLF936(for my garage) , SLX80 for my work... even i has matco 30" breaker bar. so i dont need it. i do use all 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 drive ratchets often but just higher percents i do use 1/4 and 3/8...

yeah i has play to inspect and look around the 1/2 dr flex normal handle (not long)... it make me more interest to buy... maybe later...
