Question for people with leatherman waves

I got a Leatherman wave for Christmas and I love it. But today when I went to use it and unfolded the pliers, one side felt jammed in it, and when I got it out, it made a snap noise. And now I don't know of its my imagination or the pliers are loose, but when I have the needle noses closed, and hold only one side of the handle, and turn it 90 degrees to the left the other side falls open due to gravity.

Is this like this on all model waves? Or should the handles be entirely snug no matter where they are and not open or move due to gravity.

you can adjust the tension via the torx screws...

I figured that, but wasnt sure if it was suggested since they're tamper resistant.

They're just tamper torx nowadays, not the pentalobular type they used in the original Wave models.
Yeah, you can adjust them a bit for tension, but there is a mild thread locking compound on those threads, so it may loosen over time if you mess with it.

Usually on a leatherman Wave (or Charge), if the needle nose gets stuck on one side, it's jammed up against one of the tools that wasn't completely folded back. The snap noise was probably the plier jaw freeing itself from the scissors.
