HI All,
Seeking some questions and none of the stickies or searches seemed to address, nor does the racedeck website.

If the inside measurement of the garage is say 23'-6" for example. Are you supposed to cut the tile to make it fit. I'm assuming the tile should run to the edge of the wall?

If this is the case, what's the best, neates, easiest way to cut this tile?

Thanks!
Chris

You will want to leave 1/2 inch gap around the entire perimeter of your garage to allow for expansion/contraction of your racedeck. If you don't, the tile will buckle and you will have a mess. The best way to cut is with a jig saw. They cut very easy, and it will leave a very clean edge.

When I did mine, I pulled up the baseboard in the garage. We cut the edge tiles and left the 1/2 inch as mentioned. I replaced the baseboard with the rubber base that you can get at HD or Lowes. It finished off the entire thing and looks great, plus it was very easy to install.

Can you cut this with a compound chop saw?

I would see no reason why you couldn't use a chop saw, as long as it cuts all the way accross the 12" tile.

Beautiful layout Annette, I've got brick at the bottom so can't really use that but it sounds like a great way to finish things.

On another side, one of the guys in the MINI club used whole tiles only. His ended up being about 6 inches shy of the walls all the way around. He finished it off with the ramp edge all the way around in red, it looks really sharp. He had a similar situation as you and didn't like the cut edges up against the wall since he couldn't do a baseboard finish.
Good luck,
Annette
