Question for racedeck users

I'm looking into a flooring for my garage and have always wondered..........What does everyone with racedeck (or any product with the same type design) actually do when they spill oil or antifreeze. Does it just sit under your tiles??? Or is racedeck more for prettying up the place and not so much for working. This is not a knock on racedeck so don't take it that way, I'm just curious. It is beautiful.

The tiles are pretty tight together, most liquids will not go between the tiles (yes, if you leave it for days some will seep down). I never worried about spills, cleaned them up when I had the chance and when I pulled up the floor 9 years later to move I was pretty surprised at how clean the concrete was. The only area that had any stains was from under my lift which saw heavy use and even there it was not bad, cleaned up easily for the next owners. In my new house I placed the tiles on the slab and I expect to never see that slab again in this lifetime.

The only thing I did differently in my new house was leave a corner 7'x8' without Racedeck as I was tired of melting tiles when welding so now I have a corner for my metal grinding and welding. In my old garage I would lay a fireproof blanket down, its nice not to have to do that if you have the space for a bare concrete area (I do).

Oh I thought that their claim to fame was that water and stuff would drain through. Good to know that it shouldn't.

Water and stuff does drain through the "free form" style tile. I haven't yet received my order, but I planned for some drainage (around the entryways, for instance) using this style tile; my slab is subject to periodic soaking, and I wanted to be able to dry it out by providing some ventilation. The rest is solid coin pattern. So far this is all theory. I'll report as the thing progresses.

The seams on our RaceDeck cause hydro-static tension and keep most all liquids from seeping through, unless you have a large spill. In that case you can easily unsnap a single tile or section ( see here

The under structure is channeled to allow liquids to flow and air to circulate freely ( concrete can leach moisture) , so you have no mold and mildew issues. http://www.racedeck.com/whatisracedeckflooring.html

I just wipe up the spills when I see them. I had some minor discoloration on one tile from oil. No big.

I found that small oil spills clean up very easy. There were a couple little quarter size spots I missed and even a couple of days later they wiped up from a graphite tile easily and did not leave any stains.
