I picked up this hard handle ratchet (the red one) a while back on a whim. I'd like to get one of the new short flex and maybe a long flex to go with it. The SO website doesn't have pictures of these models but most of the eBay pics show a different font/script on the handle (borrowed a pic of a blue example). Is the font like I have still available? Any color is okay.

I am going to bet you won't find it. You may be able to find an older handle and swap it, but no guarantees on the fitment.

Yes, fitment is the concern. I can find the same ratchet that I have. But if I remove the handle and put it onto another ratchet, will it stay?

It depends on how you remove it. I boil mine and can remove them well enough that they can be reused. I would say it would be more prone to coming off, but you could add glue if it doesn't want to stay.

I would experiment a bit, usually a couple minutes for a 3/8" handle. They do not come off easy and the ratchet gets hot so get some decent gloves. I have only done one of this style grip, I usually do the comfort grips.

I've also removed hard handles from screwdrivers by boiling them. Don't leave them in the water too long or the plastic will get discolored and the logo may fade. I've used Gorilla super glue on a couple of handles, and I've read about people using epoxy, but mostly the handles stay in place by themselves. Do a search for the "show me your custom ratchet handle" thread for more ideas on how to remove and reattach the handles.

I have a ratchet just like the black one at home I don't use. That reminds me I need to throw it up on Craigslist. Those plastic handles don't fit my hands well.
