Yeah, I hate having lonely sockets. The Craftsman plastic rails are about 14 inches long with about 13 inches of usuable length. The Ernst rails are available in 8, 13, and 18 inch long versions.

Mike, I would be interested in sets with holders, but I am not sure I want the hanson style... The Ernst has my attention though. I LOVE my Toptul tools, but they are tools. I put them away in my tool chest, and use them- I dont really have lots of time to blow on re-arranging the drawers every time I buy more tools. And as you know, I have been buying lots of tools lately.

Does the sockets with the plastic thing a ma gigs take a special ratchet?
I mean how does one attach said socket to the matching ratchet?
Those are the new "Thin Profile" socket spinner handles. Mine broke the first time I tried to remove the spinner from the socket in order to use it on a standard ratchet. When I took it back to Sears for the warranty, they actually laughed in my face!
I am willing to put up with some plastic parts, but customer service like that is just too much

I hear a lot of guys complain about how their sets of sockets don't completely fill up a Hansen socket tray and they always have to buy extra sockets to fill out the empty slots. I'm thinking if those Hansen trays came already preloaded with all the slots filled out ... that would be the latest sizzle in the sHizzle.

I'm thinking if a guy was to offer the Hansen trays preloaded with sockets and his competitors didn't offer such and option, the guy with the preloaded Hansen trays might have a competitive advantage ... does that make sense?

He has posted earlier that the preferred method of contact was to email him or contact him via the phone number he referenced.
The guy is really cool I emailed him last night and we talked today in the morning and I ordered some stuff from him, he already boxes it up and shipping it Tuesday IMO that's good customer service... How many places will take your order on a Sunday and package it the same day?
I called a snap on guy I always buy stuff from cash on Thursday wanted to buy a 1/2 flex head ratchet and he never called back.

I can get you that socket holder but I will have to order it. It is meant for retail display so I'm not so sure it will be useful to you .......but no worries I'll obviously let you decide that. i purchased a bunch of 1/2 drive sockets filling all the holes my craftsman set left behind....all for the price of about 6 snapon sockets....the quality is quite surprising, and no one can beat the customer service

I think the Taiwanese have got a bad rap. Back in the 80s when they were making cheap tools for American importing companies that just wanted to sell you a tool and didn't care if it lasted or not - and the tool said Made In Taiwan on it - that's where I'm thinking they got their bad rap.
Unless I'm wrong, Toptul has never been a contractor for an American importing company; they are making tools for themselves and are selling them though distributors like Mike. Judging solely by the pictures I've seen of the tools guys have posted on the board, they look to be a tool that was made with great care and a concern for quality.

If the price is right, i'd love the full socket set with the trays. I just spent over $1k at Sears buying tools this week, got everything I needed besides filling in my existing (and sparse) socket set.
