I have a basic question on a hinge. I fab up a set, machined some bearing bronze spacers welded it all, and yet I have about a 10 degree problem as it seats before it closes 100%....what am I missing before I go grinding of a bit of the 150 year old metal? Thanks

Sounds like it might be an alignment issue, hard to say without seeing what it’s doing. But I had to comment on that badass door. I build jails for a living and that ole girl is saweeet!

It looks like you fabbed the wall side of the hinge. I'd suggest that you cut it apart and move the bushing to the end of the plate so the hinge is on one plane instead of stepped as you have it. If possible you could add a spacer between the hinge and the door but that looks to be a riveted joint. Doing either of the above will put the door in the opening and not proud of the face.
