Question on brick interlock

Hi guys.

Looking at doing some repairs on interlock around my home. I have some water coming into the basement and I’m believing it’s from the old owners sloppy interlock grading water towards the house.

My question is what taper should I use to direct the water flow away from the house. I k ow standard taper is 1/8” per foot. Is this ok?

Don't forget gutters to help the water get away from the house.
