Got my 500sq new concrete slab diamond ground and cleaned, ready to start the epoxy this weekend. This is just going to be a woodshop, no cars or chemicals. I have Corotech V155 100% solids pre-primer and Corotech V440 for the color coat. 25 lbs of flakes. Planning on 1 coat of primer and 2 coats of color with flakes in 2nd coat.
Question 1
The primer sts 500-800 sq ft per gallon for masonry with a 2.0-3.2 mil thickness. If I use the whole gallon of primer with I have issues? Best way to judge thickness if trying to use partial gallon? I do have a 3/16 notched squeegee but was planning on just using 3/8 9inch roller. Any advice on the primer?
Question 2
I have 3 gallons on the V440. It sts 375-475 sq ft per gallon with 15.9-1.9 mil dry thickness. Was planning on just doing one gallon first then doing the other 2 gallons for second coat but now worried about the second coat being too thick. Would this be an issue again? I guess I can just do 3 separate coats with each gallon but that spreads my time frame out as it has a 8 hr recoat time.
Question 3
I havent gotten a topcoat yet as I dont know what my local store has. Will I be okay to not have a topcoat? Benefits to topcoat?
Thank you for any suggestions.
