After living in this house for over 10 years I finally got around to looking at the last 2 receptacles in the basement in the finished portion.
I took the wall plates off and inspected the wiring of the outlets just to make sure wiring was correct and terminals tight.
As I suspected wiring to the outlet was poor ( not wrapped around the terminal correctly and not stripped back enough so insulation was under the screw)
I wrapped that up and putting the cover plate back on I noticed that the plastic box was not square to the sheet rock and one end protrudes about 1/16 or so proud of the wall and the wall plate will not sit flush to the wall.
I know that there are deep plate for purchase but they seem to be pretty costly for what they are.
Question to all of you and your minds. will a mid size plate or a jumbo plate work for me?
Meaning are they any deeper that a standard plate.
