Question on insulating joists 4ft apart.

As it says I'm looking to insulate my 24x24 garage ceiling. The joists are 4 ft apart what options do i have?

Check with an insulation supplier that provides insulation for metal buildings as one of their lines. It will be avaliable in any width and thickness you want.

I rolled mine with 24 inch wide rolls that were butted together, then did loose insulation over top, seems to work.

Did you have gaps between the batts? A 24" O.C. stud bay is actually more like 22.5", so it seems like the batts would be too narrow?

You're saying that the ceiling is unsupported over a 4' span? And you expect that ceiling to support the weight of insulation? What is the ceiling made of?

How about that blown in stuff with the machine from Depot. Doesn't have to look neat. with 4 foot centers your not going up there anyway.
