Question on lifts for my smaller garage

I want to get a four post lift but my garage isn't very deep (19 feet). Would a four post fit? It's 23 feet wide so that isn't an issue. If it doesn't fit I am thinking a scissor lift or Max Jax, but cannot decide.

Check the dimensions of the ones you're interested in. Some lifts also have a distance from edges of the slab.

As other's have written, check the dimensions on whatever lift you want. They're all different. You'll also need to calculate how high your ceiling is vs. your car.

If you have a bigger (taller) car then you need to account for that and might not get a full lift out of it.

The MaxJax is a low-rise lift for exactly this situation. I had one for a few years and could do everything on that, that I can do now on my full-rise two-post. You just have to crouch a little more.

If I had low ceilings in my new house I'd still have that MaxJax

A good roll around bucket seat works good too (under a MaxJax). I took an old bucket seat and welded up some angle iron and bolted on some decent full swivel rubber wheel castors and it works nice. You can buy fancy mechanic's chairs that do the job, but if you can weld, it was a cheaper option.

Bendpak HD-7W. I changed my order from that to the HD-9-XW but sort of wish I had stayed with the shorter one. It is about 2 feet shorter and it is totally OK to have a little overhang front and rear. 98% of my DIY is on cars that would fit the HD-7W, but I have had Chevy Suburban (134” wheelbase), Lincoln Navigator L (132” wheelbase), Ford E350 extended van (138” wheelbase) and Ford Transit 350 extended van (148” wheelbase) on it. The HD-7 is limited to 115” wheelbase.

Thank you, the input gives me a better start to researching exactly what I want and what will fit and work best.
