Question on metal fabrication

I would like to know how the corner of this toolbox tray was made. The end piece was bent at a 90* angle, and it is attached to the side piece. My question is how was it attached? JB weld? Something else.

The divider inside the tray is similar, but I can see marks every 3" or so, that look like finish nail heads would look on wood. What are those?

I didn't take metal shop in hs.

It is spot welded.

The "finish nail heads" you see are the tong marks left by the spot welder.

Technically resistance spot welds. Two electrical contacts pressed on each side of the base metal, than enough current is passed through the contacts to fuse the base metal. Goes quick a second or so per spot.

Robots can do spot welds or run a MIG torch amongst other things.
