My question is I have started threads like the one listed in my signature below. Now my thread called the 5 stitches part 2 I'm going in different direction not only showing the progess my my garage but sharing ideas with ppl with 2 car garages how to use there space better and overall sharing back and forth. Now I had some ideas of going over welding table designs I came up with over the years and some other ideas past and present. Yes it all with furthering the progess of my garage but one it can be listed under my thread, 2 a new thread titled under idea or thought. 3 welding and fab section 4 genernal dicussion. In past I would posting under thread idea and then update my ongoing thread basically double posting. I would sure get my idea out there and share thoughts about my idea to broader group of ppl but what's the best way. Do i continue process of my garage thread or start new threads. New some ideas and thought please.

What????? My head is spinning after reading that.

From what I did understand, you might open a new thread, in the introduction add a link to your previous thread and then explain what enhancements or improvements you've made. I hope I got that right....

Sorry about that. say post a welding table I built.... In past i would make new thread than repost it on my garage build thread that was writing new thread but then going back garage thread and basically updating it with new post I just wrote i know its confusing.

lo, that clarification didn't help as much as I hoped it would :)

I think what you are saying is:

1. Create a thread about your garage organization
2. Then you create a welding table, should you create a new tread or just continue to post in your garage organization thread?

I dunno if it makes a difference. If it's part of your overall garage organization, I'd say it's safe to post there.

However, if you want to discuss your table, get ideas and have people ask questions, start a new thread.

The only thing with massive threads is that it becomes difficult to find information after a while.

Taumac, I know what your wanting to say but when put to words it may lose a bit. I enjoy and follow your posts. Some of us that frequent this forum more than others recognize others and their methods after a while.

What you could always do is simply continue your thread and rename it as " 5 stitches garage and it's progression". That way your free to post what you want when you want and in the order you want.

Regardless, I am a fan and will figure it out.

new thread, I have not yet opened or read your 5 stitches thread (either part 1 or 2) since the title did not interest me, i did not open it and a welding table thread would interest me.

Putting your threads in your sig, seems silly to me, what happens when you have a few hundred ?

Oh **** You can rename threads....? If I knew that I would have not made The 5 stitches thread cause one I wanted to name garage it title it plus take in new direction. I would have just stay with the orginal garage post under "My Shop"

That was kinda my thought if I make a cool table or something and just put it in my 5 stitches thread people might not see it but if I made new thread the title might spark interest. Also, I would need to update my ongoing thread 5 stitches.

Why do you care what "interest" a thread creates? Title the thread consistent with what it's about and if someone is interested in the topic they will open it.

No need to make a mountain out of a molehill, IMO.

I kinda wasn't just kinda asking a conscience of posting new vas keeping everything in one thread

Interpretation?:dunno:

Not trying to pick on you but you ought to worry about sentence structure and maybe read back to yourself what you think you wrote. If a thread is hard to read I just click the "back" button.

Kinda wasn't just kinda asking?

I have a 32 pg thread on my van build on a number of sites. ANYTHING I do to move forward or create progress on the van I post in the thread. BUT, if it is something I think will interest others, or is useful just as a searchable thread, I will start a new thread with the same info. it is easy enough to copy and past an existing post into another thread. That's what I do and maybe change some of the wording to make sense of the new post/thread. Savvy?

I have to apologize for thread. The idea in head didn't come out well while typing. I think I got the answer I was looking for. Sorry again.
