Hi There,
This may sound like a newb question, but I really don't have much experience using tap & die sets.
I recently picked up a couple Gladiator wall cabinets (ready to assemble) from Lowe's and I'm having the (common?) problem of the little machine screws not threading into the holes in the cabinet, particularly where you mount the doors. From some random google searching I've read that people get around this problem by simply re-tapping the holes.
Well, my question is, how do I know what size/pitch to use? I don't want to end up having to do a cycle of trial and errors and risk wrecking the cabinets.
Does anyone know the thread specifics of those machine screws that they could just tell me here?
OR
Is it just a matter of going through my dies in the set, test fitting for a match to the screw, and then using the corresponding tap for that size?
Thanks!
