Question on the Power Pack for My Pool Cleaner

This may be an easy question for those in the know, but my knowledge of electricity is very limited, especially when it comes to somehting like this. I have a "Dolphin" pool cleaner. The power pack that came with the unit broke. The output of this newer unit is DC 24 volts. I have an older power unit from an old cleaner same brand jsut an older model its output is rated at 30 volts. Can I run the newer unit with the older unit thats rated at 30 volts? I dont want to risk any hard to the electronics of the newer unit thanks.

I wouldn't without confirming with the manufacturer. As little as 10% overvoltage can kill a device.

It really depends on what kind of electronics are in the unit. Sometimes the powered device(s) have built in regulated power supplies tha can handle the extra voltage with a little extra heat dissipation without problem. You could also let the smoke out once you power it up with the 30v supply. Once the smoke is out it's very hard to put back in.
