Question on the report button

In some posts the 'Report' button has a green dot or grey dot next to it. Does the green dot mean that someone has already reported the message as spam or other problems?

Also answers something for me as I believed most had been asking about the report button and not the online indication. To a Moderator it can also show as red meaning the person is online and not active on the forum or invisible.

is there a easy way to tell if some thing has been reported already?

Simple answer is no but if it is reported a few times by a few different people you will find it is dealt with quickly.
