Burying some triple wall pipe along the side of my driveway, to take water from my gutters to the street. I need to use some regular DWV fittings at the bottom of the downspouts before I transition to the triple wall pipe.

Assuming the bell type fitting between lengths is considered good without glue (Hancor says it is soil tight), can I use regular PVC glue to join DWV fittings to the triple wall pipe at my transitions?

Thanks.

My experience with the triple wall pipe (sold at Home Depot) is that pvc glue will not melt it. **** on fittings without glue or use rubber hose clamp type couplers.

Tom you can go back and edit the post. ;)

Triple wall is the white sticks of drain pipe you see at Home Depot. It's white on the outside and black inside.

Please tell us why you are using triple wall pipe.
.

Don't want perforated pipe in this application, my wife wants to plant things in that area, so roots growing in would be an issue. Triple wall is smooth on the inside, so resists debris build up better than corrugated, is still strong due to the middle layer being corrugated, and is cheaper than SCH 40 pvc.

Thanks for the advice on gluing, saves me a test. I'll figure something out for the transition.

At most, I'd silicone the joints, anything more and sched. 40 will be cheaper.
I would just do it friction fit and not worry about leaks.

I have never used any glue for this application.
If it leaks so what?
It is just rain water into the lawn.
Depending on the routing you might want to put in a wye for a cleanout.

Thanks for the advice. Started the project yesterday, I glued the sch 40 stuff that runs under the driveway, but just used push together connections after the transition to the triple wall pipe. Have about 30 ft more to install before I'm done.
