Question regarding garage heater venting

Just finished the installation of a Beacon Morris 45000 BTU garage heater. I had the unit vented by an HVAC installer using a concentric vent kit. I noticed on the intake side the b-vent pipe connection joints were not wrapped with 3M tape. They are properly screwed together but not taped. Question is should this have been done? Thanks

The installation instructions for the Hot Dawg I most recently installed called for either tape, OR high temperature silicone sealant to be used on the flange on the machine. I opted for both.

But the concentric vent and wall thimble came with gaskets, so nothing was required for those.
